About the Instructor:
Katie began loving the water at 6 months old and started competitively swimming at age 6. Her driven personality and dedication to the sport earned her a scholarship to swim at Penn State University. In her four years at Penn State, Katie swam and competed in NCAA’s, Big Ten Championships, and 2000 Olympic Trials, her events were 50, 100 freestyle, 100 backstroke, and 100 butterfly. Katie held Penn State records and their team became Big Ten Champions in 2001. Katie has been teaching swim lessons and coaching off and on for the past 12 years. She is currently the head swim coach of Riptide at CAC. She wants swimmers to meet new challenges in the sport , while focusing on stroke development and having fun!
