Adopt Our Schools Initiative
A program to benefit four local
elementary schools, we are looking for gently used Junior racquets and
used balls. Donations will be collected in September, to be distributed
at four schools. Tennis teaching professionals will visit schools and
instruct children in tennis during school PE. We are seeking
volunteers to help at school programs, to collect donations, or to
assist in the spring festival. Interested participants may contact
Loretta at lconway@wellbridge.com for further details.
Play for a Heart Tennis Fundraiser
The 5th annual Play for a Heart Tennis Fundraiser was held Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Colorado Athletic Club, Inverness from 1:30 - 6:30 p.m. Proceeds from this event have raised almost $100,000 to help children and families dealing with congenital heart disease (CHD), which is America's most common birth defect. The mission of this event is to increase awareness for this condition and to support medical science so that invasive surgeries become a thing of the past. All of the proceeds go to The Children's Hospital Foundation in Denver
The Grier Laughlin Memorial Fund Tennis Event
We sincerely wish to thank our participants, organizers and contributors for the very successful Grier Laughlin Memorial Fund event held Saturday, July 23, 2011. We especially wish to acknowledge our food sponsors Noodles & Company, Cooks Fresh Market, and Glenna Casullo (c/o Cousins Cupcake Company). Also our court sponsors @ $500 Mushkin, Adventos, and Quintas Financial. Additionally, our tennis staff Gay, Bill and Loretta ensured a smooth flow of activities and ensured that everyone was able to participate and have a good time. Kids Club extended its hours for child care, Jocelyn contributed massage certificates, and Michael from the Cafe helped with setup and logistics. The event definitely portrayed a true sense of community within the Inverness staff and its members.
Rally for Ali
Colorado Athletic Club Inverness hosted a fundraiser event on Saturday, August 29, 2009, called Rally for Ali. This event was founded by Ali Tinney and her friends at Inverness. Ali is one of our tennis members and was recently diagnosed with cancer. Proceeds from this tournament benefitted the Sense of Security Colorado organization, which provides security from financial hardship and enhances the quality of life for breast cancer patients in treatment. The event included a tennis tournament at Inverness and an evening event of auctions, music, entertainment and hors d'oeuvres.
We are always looking for ways to add to our Tennis Events. Please contact us if you know of other events we can assist with in our community.
